The Personal PA System features an FM Transmitter that connects to an existing sound system, typically using a tape output connection from the amplifier or mixer. Optional Transmitters are available for facilities that do not have a sound system. The Transmitter acts as a miniature radio station, broadcasting over a radius of 300 feet or more, directly to the listener's Personal PA Receiver. Because the Personal PA is wireless, listeners are free to sit with their family and friends, not isolated and conspicuous in the "deaf row".

The pocket-sized Receivers operate on a single 9 Volt battery and feature an easy to use volume control for individual volume adjustment. The Receivers are pre-tuned to the Transmitter, so listeners don't have to fumble with tuning controls to find the broadcast. A handy wrist strap allows hands-free use and a red "on" indicator light reminds listeners to turn the receiver off after use. The receivers are designed for use with or without the user's hearing aid, through a variety of optional earphones and TeleCoil Couplers.
